Harpurhey Shopping Centre Code of Conduct



Welcome to Harpurhey Shopping Centre! We strive to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all visitors. To ensure everyone's well-being and comfort, we kindly request that you adhere to the following code of conduct. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

General Behaviour:
  • Please refrain from engaging in behaviour that may disturb or endanger others, such as physical or verbal threats, fighting, excessive noise, stalking, or any other disruptive activities.
  • Assembling for the purpose of causing public disturbance or committing unlawful acts is strictly prohibited.
  • Use of offensive language, gestures, or expressions that may offend or disturb others is not tolerated.


Centre Regulations:
  • Expressive activities must comply with the centre’s rules and guidelines.
  • Soliciting, leafleting, canvassing, or conducting surveys within the premises require prior approval from the centre’s management.
  • Property damage or vandalism is strictly prohibited.
  • Begging or engaging in vagrancy within the Shopping Centre is prohibited.
  • Please dispose of waste in designated receptacles.
  • Open alcoholic beverages are not permitted on the premises.
  • Commercial Photography and filming are only allowed with prior approval from the Centre Management Team.
  • Face or head coverings for religious purposes are welcomed and medical face coverings are also permitted.
  • If you’re wearing something with a hood, please make sure it is down when inside the centre. Face coverings such as balaclavas or ski masks are not allowed.
  • Groups of four or more may be challenged and required to disperse and unsociable behaviour, including swearing, shouting or any behaviour that could be detrimental to a family environment is not acceptable.


Legal Requirements:
  • Consumption of alcohol is restricted to licensed premises only.
  • Possession of any type of weapon is strictly prohibited.


Definition of Anti-Social Behaviour: Anti-social behaviour, as defined by the Crime and Disorder Act 1998, includes any behaviour that causes harm, distress, or harassment to individuals or the community.

Reporting Violations: If you observe any violations of the code of conduct, please report them to the shopping centre’s management or security personnel.

Consequences of Violations: Violations of the code of conduct may result in warnings, temporary bans, or legal action if necessary. Community Engagement: We value the input and cooperation of our community in maintaining a positive and welcoming environment within the shopping centre. Your support in upholding these guidelines is vital to ensuring a pleasant experience for all.
